Message from Troop 606 Irvine, CA:
The Boy Scouts of Troop 606 camped at Joshua Tree National Park on January 19 & 20. Seventeen Scouts completed the Climbing Merit Badge while two Scouts and two Scouters worked on advanced climbing techniques. We were led by BSA-certified climbing instructors from Uprising Adventure Guides.
The air was cool and brisk during the day, with high temperatures in the 50s, but we warmed up in the sunlight. At night the moon was bright so star-gazing was limited but we enjoyed the campfire and bundled up against temperatures in the 30s.
Congratulations to the Scouts who earned the merit badge.
A very special thank you goes to all of the Scouts who attended - you showed great Scout spirit, you were unafraid of heights, you accomplished a lot, and you were a pleasure to be with.
